Jasmine is the spirited daughter of the Sultan, who has grown weary of her life of palace confinement. Despite an age-old law stipulating that the princess must marry a prince in time for her upcoming birthday, Jasmine is instead determined to marry someone she loves for who he is as opposed to what he owns.
There will be a separate role for Jasmine (singing). This is her speaking lines ONLY.

(giggles) Ahem. /(later in the conversation)/ JASMINE: The law is wrong. /SULTAN: You've only got three more days!/ JASMINE: Father, I hate being forced into this. If I do marry, I want it to be for love.
JASMINE: Oh, sure. People who tell you where to go and how to dress. You're not free to make your own choices. You're just--trapped.
JASMINE: It's all so magical. (slyly) It's a shame Abu had to miss this. (ALADDIN reveals himself accidentally) You are the boy from the market! I knew it! Why did you lie to me? Did you think I was stupid? That I wouldn't figure it out? Who are you? Tell me the truth!
