Flynn Sparks is a 12-year-old boy who loves all things old-school media, from arcade games to movies. His signature weapon is a transforming watch-to-arm-cannon named the Flynn-Shot, a weapon that he built himself based on his favorite computer game from the 1990s: Betty's Pharisaical Blaster 3D. His best friend is Tyrone West, a 14-year-old artist who's also a big brother figure to Flynn.

Personality wise, Flynn is loyal to his friends--sometimes to a dangerous or irrational level. He's talkative, but very well meaning and exceptionally sweet. With the exception of his enemies, he's not one to bad mouth others, nor is he soft and will ask questions or let them know when he doesn't agree with something.

His interests include comic books, video games (especially older ones from the 80s and 90s), movies from the same time period (80s and 90s), collecting old school media such as VHS tapes, DVDs and laserdiscs, and cartridges, pulling pranks with Tyrone as a George and Harold type duo to liven up the lives of those around them, science and science fiction, and much more recently as of the events of the series, fighting crime and giant robots.

Flynn is very smart for his age, having created his own transforming laser watch just by watching his favorite game, and getting very good grades in school. However, a lot of that genius is overlooked by how much he runs his mouth.
