VR voice-acting role: Elena the Sorceress

This is a casting call for one of the key voice roles in a popular existing VR title, Left-Hand Path.
The director has worked with voice talent including Joanna Lumley and Brian Blessed in the past, so bring your A game! It's a fairly short script (5 pages) but we'll be honing it pretty thoroughly, so expect a few takes. Live recording on VOIP with the director is greatly preferred.
Backstory: Elena has done terrible things for a good reason.
After her mentor and friend Marcus was arrested for sodomy, she and her husband Daniel embarked upon an almost impossible quest in order to free him. They planned to reach the Well of All Reward, a mystical place outside the world where any request might be granted.
The road has been far harder than they could have feared. Even to enter the Well required them to commit horrible acts, torture and murder. Eventually Elena realised that the sacrifice she'd need to make was her husband. She tricked him, murdered him, and entered the Well.
Is she a monster? No. She'd realised that if the Well grants wishes, it could grant her the wish to not only free Marcus, but also undo all the harm she'd done.
There she has fought and avoided hundreds of hideous creatures and traps in order to make it to the place where her wishes might be granted. She's been beaten, slashed, she's starving and bleeding.
And now she stands on the threshold of the Well, and discovers there's one more thing that stands in the way.
Character: Elena is a woman in her 30s or 40s who has studied the occult in a world where very little magic exists, for her whole life. She's driven and ruthless in pursuit of what she wants.
Important note: She's not a villain OR a hero. If you're familiar with the Witcher computer game series and some of the complex characters it presents, you'll have an idea of what sort of nuance we're going for her. I'll want you to play her as someone who believes what she's doing was justified.
Accent is not critical. She could have more or less any accent - I'm picturing her as having a British accent, but it's not vital.
