Kent was more than just a powerful sorcerer, he was one of our dearest friends, an inspiring mentor to younger heroes, and a beacon of hope. He sacrificed his own life to protect us all, to shield our world from a threat beyond imagination.

Well, the simple answer is… we don't know. He had to take this entity into some sort of pocket dimension. He was alive when he went in… *takes a breath* And was dead when he got out.
