Mary is a lead role in this film, starring as the conniving 12 year old with a plan. She knows what she wants and how to get it. She is often not taken seriously because of her sweet-looking, non-threatening outward appearance.
Looking for a tween-teen girl voice with a valley girl accent (a bit of vocal fry, says "like" more often than necessary, can speak a bit fast). The voice can lean into the stereotypical cartoon teen girl voice, but not so high pitched that it sounds unrealistic.

Hi Camryn, thanks so much for your submission! I really like the naturalistic tone of your second read. I'd like Mary to have some laughter/snickering in her lines. For example when she says "pfft could you imagine?" it would be great to hear her say it as though the situation is so far fetched that she finds it funny. That sort of tone can be incorporated in other areas as well. I'd love to hear your take on that!
