Description: Abu Dharr is a formidable and solitary figure, shaped by a life of hardship and survival. He hails from a tribe known for its highway robbers, which has taught him to be ever-vigilant and self-reliant. His demeanor is marked by a stoic resilience, a man who speaks only when necessary, and his words are often blunt, reflecting his lack of trust in others. Despite his rough exterior, Abu Dharr possesses a deep sense of integrity and a burning curiosity that leads him to Mecca upon hearing of a new Prophet. He is driven by a search for truth, even if it means challenging the status quo.
Casting Notes:We are preferably looking for an African American actor who can bring depth and gravitas to the role of Abu Dharr. The ideal actor should convey a sense of strength and quiet intensity, embodying the character's stoic nature and the internal conflict between his harsh past and his quest for something greater. A voice that can balance gruffness with an undercurrent of moral conviction would be ideal.

[Calling out in a public square] "I am looking for the one named Muhammad!" [Talking to a boy that helps him] " Hey kid, can I ask you something? Why are you helping me?"
[having heartfelt convo with boy] "I...I don't really have any friends. If I'm being honest, I don't really fit in with my tribe. Don't really agree with what they do" [after nearly getting beat up in public] "I thought this was a sanctuary. No violence and all that talk!"
[looking up at the sky at night] "O Allah, I've been searching for this man that declares you are one! My brother told me he has high moral character! Something my people lack...I don't know where this man is, Allah. But I'll stay by your sacred home until I find him. "
