The smartest of the Tah crop group of initiates who are training for the Trial of Ambition. He and Djeru see each other as brothers (unclear if they actually are). He is intelligent, logical, and accepting of what must be done, at any cost.

  • "Our success was only possible with Djeru and the rest providing me the space and time needed to think," [modestly]

  • "I will name her if you will not. If this initiate is to replace our sister, he must know the role Samut served." [insistent. slightly angry]

  • "I won't kill you. You're my brother. [laugh] As if I even could . . ." [Said sadly, knowing either he or his brother must die, and he knows his death is the correct choice. No regret, just acceptance]
