Teo :)! for Mason Parker - 6 year old boy - May need a female to voice him.
Current Plot Line - Fighting to stay alive
BEWARE - Mason has the biggest story in the early part of the script. he is being physically abused by his mother and she is plotting to kill both herself and Mason. Only audition if you are comfortable with this role.
He is six years old, his dad has died and his mum is raising him alone. He is trusting and friendly but easily manipulated. When he gives Jamie money early on in the story he refuses to take it back so Jamie says he wont say anything about Mason nearly being killed by a leopard as the money has bought his silence, unfortunately Jamie has no idea what pain he has brought into Masons life with that one comment.
Mason has to sound six years old and change the words to how a six year old would say them. He has a huge range of emotions from shy, happy, proud to being extremely frightened, worried and upset. A British or American accent. I want the audience to love him so be cute with the voice please.
This is a main role up to the end of Season 3. The linked scene is with the old cast and is Jamie and Mason focused. It does have a little bit of Kimberly. It is quite sweet until the end, the it is the start of the dark story.

I I used to live at home with my mummy and daddy but one day my daddy left and never came back. A policeman told my mummy he went to heaven. Where is heaven? Could I go and see him? Maybe we are on our way now

(In pain) Thank you... Ouchie... My mummy made a picnic lunch and made me some hamburgers. I only ate one because they tasted funny and chucked the other two in the bin. I never told mummy though, I told her they were yummy. She called me a good boy for eating them all up. My tummy started to hurt not long after I ate it. I had to eat the first one because she was watching me.
Unfortunately the voice sounded older than a six year old and more feminine sounding than a little boy should sound like.This role has also been cast but I'm always looking for understudies for Mason in case the voice actor drops out for any reason.
Thank you for your time. I’m alright playing an understudy if need be. My voice can also be adjusted, that’s just how I personally thought a 6 year old boy sounds like (I have a 6 year old baby brother).
If you look at the reference video, that is the tone I'm looking for. It doesn't have to be a direct copy, just as long as it sounds just as realistic and male.
If you think you can do that, I would be happy to hear a retake. If it works for Mason, I would be happy to add you as an understudy.
I don't normally do it like this but since Mason in a very important, hard to cast character, I felt it may be for the best.

The final round of auditions end July 31st, casting takes place August 1st.
If you want to see who has the voice now, he is called 10th and it should still hopefully be in the auditions section. That's what needs to be be beat right now but the closer to the reference video the better.
