  • I'm writing this down because I don't know what's going to happen if I don't get this out. My name is James, and I'm still trying to process the horror I've witnessed. I'm not sure if anyone will believe me, but I have to warn people about the legend of the Man with the Upside-Down Face. It started with my mother. I was just a kid when she passed away from cancer. I still remember the day she took that picture. She was sitting at her desk, working on some accounting papers, and she asked me to take a photo of her. I remember thinking it was weird, but she was always weird like that. She said she wanted to capture the moment, whatever that meant. I took the picture, and when I looked at it later, I noticed something...off. Her face seemed...inverted. It was like her features were mirrored, as if she had a perpetual scream frozen on her face. I brushed it off as a trick of the light or my own imagination, but deep down, I knew something was wrong. Years went by, and I grew up, trying to move on from the grief. But then, tragedy struck again. My friends, Alex and Emily, went out for a drive in their new car. I was supposed to join them, but something came up, and I had to cancel. They were going to take a selfie together before hitting the road, and I remember Alex joking about... well, about seeing something weird when they opened the car door. I told him to stop being silly, thinking it was just nerves before a big test, but... I'll never forget his cryptic words: "You'll know when it's too late." The next day, I received a call from the police. Alex and Emily were in a terrible car accident. They didn't survive. The officers said it was a freak accident, but I knew differently. I knew it was the Man with the Upside-Down Face. I saw him that day, standing by the roadside, his inverted face twisted in a grotesque grin. He was tall, gaunt, and his presence seemed to draw the air out of the room. I was too petrified to move or speak. When the police arrived, I was in shock, mumbling nonsense. I didn't even notice when Alex and Emily's parents came to identify the bodies. The guilt consumed me. If only I had gone with them... If only I had tried harder to stop them... But then, my girlfriend, Sarah, moved in with me. We were happy, trying to rebuild our lives. We took a selfie together, and... just like my mother's, Sarah's face was inverted. I knew what it meant. The Man was coming for her. One night, I woke up to find her sitting on the edge of our bed, staring at the picture of us. Her eyes were black as coal, and her face was... twisted. She whispered something in a voice I didn't recognize: "He's calling me." Then, she took the gun we kept under our bed and... and... I don't want to remember what happened next. Now, I'm the only one who knows the truth. The Man with the Upside-Down Face is out there, and he's coming for you. Don't take pictures, don't look back, don't acknowledge him. Because once you see him, there's no escape. I'm writing this down in the hopes that someone, anyone, will listen. I'm even posting it online, in the vain hope that it will spread or attract someone, anyone who can help me stop him. Dear God, I'm running out of time. Please, someone, help me.
