Despite their doubts about Spes' plans, they remain silent, unwilling to risk the only sense of family they have ever known. Gonggong goes along with the flow, valuing the companionship and acceptance of the group more than their own reservations. They are a loyal but reluctant participant, caught between their desire to belong and their unease about the group's actions.
