The sheriff of the Haven police department, the HPD. (He’s 37 years old.)
For his delivery, Hector seems pretty nonchalant most of the time. There’s always a hint of sass in his voice most of the time, however. A Southern accent would be amazing, but feet free to do what you want with the character. Impress me.
While on the surface Hector seems like a horrible person for his job- sporting a ‘cowboy hat’ like it’s a game, often being found half-way through a bottle of whiskey, and in general a person who seems to take nothing seriously; he’s actually a damn good sheriff. He keeps his cool in the most dire of situations, and when needs be, he’s one of the best leaders you’ll ever meet. Nothing can intimidate Hector, and nothing can outsmart him when he’s on alert.
“Mmmh. You’re approved.” *Pause* “Yeah, ‘ya heard me girl. What’d be the point in invitin’ you out here only to tell you to go home? I didn’t waste your time, now you don’t waste mine, n’ let me keep treating this hangover. You start tomorrow at noon.”
*Serious, speaking quietly into someone’s ear* “Boy oh boy do you love talkin’. You’d look pretty silly flabbin your gums without any teeth though, don’tcha think? Maybe simmer down before you find out for yourself.”
*Ranting to himself* “Why is it always about the hat? Nobody ever wants to know ‘bout my backstory, or why I’m an alcoholic, or why I chose to go into law enforcement- it’s ALWAYS the hat…”
