Not all Lupaean citizens agree with the Empire's mandate. A small percentage of the Lupaean population have made an active effort of voicing their disapproval of the current war with their neighoboring nations. Sadly, this same group of dissenters are often ignored or persecuted.

Thea is one such person. She currently serves in a military unit of the Lupaean Army, dedicated to undertaking missions deemed extremely dangerous as part of the mandatory 3 year service that all Lupaean's are forced to serve. Normally, women in the Lupaean army have the freedom to serve in positions that don't require them to be put on the front lines, but Thea's assignment to the "death squads" is a punishment for her vehement disapproval of the Empire's actions.

Thea is more compassionate than most of her countrymen and can't bear to watch others suffer to the point that she has spared many assassination targets on her missions. This has put her at odds with the death squad leadership, but she'd rather risk her own life than ruin the lives of others.
