Since the novel is told from her perspective, the most important role is that of Jamal (17, Canadian, deeper voice with a hint of a smoker's rasp, occasionally frenetic but more often drawling). However, being a novel, other characters appear and have important roles and voices. The most important of these are listed below, especially for the extant three chapters. However, the information given below is just general information - if you can't nail the accents given, I'd rather that you be able to alter your voice for a close approximation than attempt an accent you can't approach.

-Johara, 15, Jamal's sister. More high-pitched voice, prone to 'uptalk'. Anglo Canadian accent.
-Chandra Chaudhury, 30: Mature, smooth voice, barely-repressed hysteria underneath a calm surface, a very measured tone. Anglo-Canadian accent.
-Gurjas Chaudhury, 35: Low voice, grumbly, slight North Indian accent if you can manage it
-Avery, 27: Medium, smooth voice, gentle Quebecois Canadian accent
-Nathan, 20: Weak tenor, stammers a lot, Anglo Canadian accent

Mrs. Chaudhury walked up the narrow steps into my office at six in the afternoon, and the ghost of her dead husband followed behind.
It wasn’t much of an office yet, really. It felt a little more like a closet, especially with all the boxes still scattered around, labelled variously with ‘books’, ‘random crap’, ‘personal shit’, so on, so forth - and I had my head too deep in one of those boxes to hear her entry through my muttered curses.
“Is this the Private Investigations office?”
Gurjas Chaudhury was waiting very patiently for me - for us - once I got back up the stairs. It was kind of unnerving, actually. “You lied to my wife.”
Ah. “Yes.” I paused. “You’re blunt. That’s useful.”
“How old are you?”
They just gave me a crooked grin, dark eyes sparkling. “Just stay out of trouble, okay?” This time, I caught the hint of a French accent lingering under their words.
