Gonta Gokuhara is a character of Danganronpa: V3, and his title is the Ultimate Entomologist. Despite his burly, muscular, and very intimidating build, Gonta has the heart of purest gold. He’s extremely kind hearted, gentle, and polite to everyone he meets around him. He vows to always protect the people he sees as his friends and family - even if it means he’d have to risk his life doing so. If he feels like he wasn’t able to do so, he’s not afraid to cry and let out his sadness - even if some consider it “unmanly” to do. 

His kind heart does come at a price - because of how trusting he can be, he can also come across as naive and gullible, usually always believing things straight away from even strangers and falls for some of the easiest lies a person could tell rather quickly and easily and not understanding sexual or intimate innuendos. From a young age, he had always been an animal lover and a huge lover of all bugs and insects. At one point in his childhood, he went missing, lived with a family of wolves for ten years, and was then found. This could explain his not entirely high intellect in most subjects not revolving outdoors or entomology and somewhat broken speech. As a way to repay his “forest family” for watching over him, Gonta vowed to become a “true gentleman” and help his friends whenever possible without resorting to violence, and will become critical of himself if he does something a person would consider to be “ungentlemanly.”

Naturally, he is very squeamish and sensitive to any form of killing and cruelty, often becoming frightened and terrified, sometimes tearing up, if it does happen and tries to break things up. 

Because of his time spent in the woods, Gonta has a lot of knowledge about nature and animals, and what he specializes in - insects. He always becomes happy and sometimes a bit intense if he thinks someone states/expressed interest in bugs, but will grow angry if someone says they don’t or hears someone hating on bugs (friend or not), claiming no bad person could hate bugs. This is really one of the only things that can truly make Gonta angry, though. For the rest of the time you see him, he’s the human equivalent of a large teddy bear. Just don’t say you have a distaste for bugs… otherwise you’ll face his wildlike wrath.

As a remnant, Gonta’s beliefs turn a complete 180. All his time spent living in the forest will come out when he’s a remnant, and his inner animal comes out. He’s wild, mean, messy - you wouldn’t be able to differentiate him from a wild ape. No more is the happy, loveable Gonta. Thanks to Junko, he’s an animalistic shadow of who he used to be.
