Itchy is cowardly, but kind-hearted and much more caring compared to Charlie, and has a terrible flea problem, hence the name. He is Charlie's best friend, sidekick, and polar opposite, being the voice of reason of the duo and is more reliable. However, he always gets caught up in many of Charlie's messes, though he always sticks by him no matter what.
