Bernadette Dubois is a troubled woman. She has visions of the "future". She is in her early thirties and thinks she's living 100 years in the past, fresh after the first world war. Her gimmick is that she's french, but acts like an american woman in the roaring 20s. It's important that her voice is feminine and light.
She speaks in the same manner they spoke in in the 1920s.
Some examples:
Q: What's your dream? "My dream... Oh, what a beautiful dream it is... My husband and I... Perched on our balcony, sipping champagne. My mind is clear, finally. Not a worry in the world. That's how I want it to be. Peaceful..."
(kindly, motherly) "Don't you worry, Dufferin. We'll be out of here soon, and I promise you, dearest, I will take you home and help you find your folks."
