Despite being so young, Ricken sees himself as a grown-up, and despises being treated as a child. When Chrom and the rest of the Shepherds go off to save Maribelle from the Mad King Gangrel, Ricken ignores Chrom's orders to stay behind and joins them. He says he's often finding ways to make himself look much more like a grown-up, with his main idea simply being making himself taller.
