Mercurial is snarky and just a bit socially unaware, but he’s also more perceptive and vigilant than he seems. He never tells anyone about himself, and if he does, you can tell he’s lying by the smug expression on his face; the man is entirely and utterly a mystery in itself. And if someone were to think he was easy to befriend, they’d think twice the moment they try to interact with him with how he puts more effort into appearing uninterested in the conversation than he does trying to make eye contact. But none of this means Mercurial can’t be sincere at all, it’s just a case of comfortability with the right people. He more often just keeps to himself and doesn’t like to get caught up in the wrong crowd.
