Auguste is a mad playwright who has The Ring of the Prince of Thieves in his possession.  He can only find inspiration upon killing someone, and does his terrible misdeeds outside the eye of the public.  He's a master manipulator and an incredible actor in his own right.  

For Auguste, in the story, he and the helpful, yet clearly grieving Schwartz are one in the same.  Schwartz will either be played by the same person doing two different voices, or two people with similar voices.
