Shadow the hedgehog is an anti hero in project chaos. created by the acclaimed scientist Gerald Robotnik shadow was the supposed “ultimate life form” and was raised in a cold isolated laboratory, being exposed to a harsh and unforgiving environment as well as being the subject of several experiments until he broke out of the bunker that was his home for so many years and has spent the past twenty years in hiding.  Despite his freedom shadow still feels chained down to his past and that affects his day to day life, he is extremely closed off and finds it hard to connect with people. Believing that anyone who is kind to him must have ulterior motives. There are only two people that Shadow is in regular contact with. The most notable being a fellow experiment of Gerald Robitnik called silver, shadow has been the guardian of silver for a few years now though their relationship is extremely strained due to shades inability to allow people to get close to him.

Though his backstory has been altered a bit, This interpretation of shadow is very similar to his first few appearances in the games. He is a flawed character that is tied down to his past and the horrors he experienced as a creation of Gerald Robotnik. Refusing to allow anyone to get close to him as he fears he will be hurt again.
