Eileen: A Short Film Adaptation
pitrii_Petra for Eileen
Eileen is the protagonist of the film. She is a plain girl from plainsville, or at least that's what she thinks. Deeply insecure and spiteful towards her circumstances. Her mother is dead and her father is a verbally abusive alcoholic. She works at an asylum for young troubled boys and spends her free time sitting in her car outside her coworker's house, watching him and fantasizing about him. She longs deeply to get away from her boring life and ends up becoming intensely facsinated by her new coworker Rebecca.
The line delivery should reflect that she tries to seem laidback and cool towards anyone in order to make them like her, unless she dislikes them. She is especially tense in her speech around Rebecca, BUT NOT TO A CARTOONISH EXTENT, make it subtle. The only one she speaks mostly freely to is her father.

“O’hara’s! That’s where I go… “ (Rebecca wants to go out, Eileen has never gone out, but that's not what she wants Rebecca to think...). "Oh u-uhm yeah I don’t have any plans.” (She never does.)
“Uhm can I ask what your name is?”(She hated Rebecca until just now cause Rebecca went out of her way to talk to her.) “I won’t forget, promise.” (Rebecca tells her and She's so happy she can't pretend to be laidback, she sounds bashfully head over heels)
"Admit it. You've lied with your chest. So much that you don't even know what's true. You let him hurt him and you haven't batted a fucking eye since. No, no, you're not a bad person, you're just a fucking coward huh?!" (She's pump full of adrenaline. She's wearing a mask and holding a gun and Rebecca told her to do ANYTHING to get this woman to confess. 'Bad person' part is sarcastic and mocking. )
