The motherly archetype of her species never really fit Caroline. Truthfully, she takes "a mother scorned" to a new level, and she is massively untrusting of strangers. Once she's made up her mind about someone, getting her to change her mind is out of the question, and it's easy to draw her ire. Myu seems to have done this exact thing without even trying.
