He cared a lot about his kids and often fulfilled their needs despite his wife telling him that they needed to fend for themselves. However, Maddox, being in love with Cecila, often did anything for her which also meant he was neglecting the children as well. While he had his independent moments, he was largely dependent and strung along on a little string. When someone complained about Cecila to him, he would jump at the first chance to defend her and everything she was doing.

Roses and Thorns- He can grow roses that will turn into monstrous beings and attack people. Maddox could also grow a regular rose and have the thorns shoot at people, infecting them with a deadly poison.
