Erik on the surface is overconfident, carefree, and a bit of a ladies man. He does not show his true feelings very easily, rarely speaking about himself. He avoids talking about his past. Despite his criminal background he has his own code he goes by, including not killing anyone. He has a soft spot for the Spirit and always feels more comfortable around them than humans. He'll go out of his way to protect any Spirit even if it means he'll get hurt.
