RY-47, also known as Rory, is the main antagonist of Portal: System Failure. They are a personality construct (core) who was formally working as a maintenance worker when they were unceremoniously fired and subsequentially ordered to be decommissioned. Rory managed to avoid being decommissioned and now seeks to take over the facility for themself in order to prevent other cores from being decommissioned.

Rory talks in a calm manner with a slight eeriness to their voice. Most of the time, they are quiet, calm, and collected. However, they can have outbursts where they shout in anger - in complete contrast to their earlier calm persona.

The biggest inspiration when writing Rory's dialogue was Vanny from Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. For those unaware, Vanny is the female voice in this trailer:
