EDMUND: Right off the bat outside of the take, you should never feel like you have to justify what voice or choice you make for auditions/ takes. All you ought to really focus on is what choices best suit your vision of the character in front of you. I would say you should embrace your signiture though. Feel at least as comfortable in using your natural speaking voice as well as using an accent. On to the take. Excellent recovery. Just hitting the line again. The scrolling is fun, yeah I wouldnt worry to much about it. Won't affect you in actual takes. As for projecting, regardless of actual volume I'd love for you to start by using the diaphragm more. Add more aggression to your read by using your stomach to force the air out driving with the abdomen. That will drive your projection up at any volume.
You have a wonderful voice; I want to hear even more projection. Nice job on getting through the flubs always remember you can take a deep breath and reset. Now, let's dive a bit deeper into the performance. The gym setting in this script is vibrant, full of energy, and bustling with activity. It's crucial to convey this atmosphere through your voice. Imagine you're trying to reach every corner of this lively gym. Picture that person in the very last row, working out while listening to you. Your voice needs to cut through the noise and distractions, so don't be afraid to amplify your enthusiasm. Speaking of enthusiasm, this script isn't just about relaying information; it's about igniting inspiration and motivation (well as much inspiration as you can get for from buying a pencil shaper lol) You're there to energize and uplift the people in the gym. So, let that enthusiasm flow freely. Embrace the spirit of encouragement and excitement. However, enthusiasm should not compromise clarity. While exuding energy, ensure that every word is crystal clear. This can be achieved by slightly slowing down your pace. It's essential that the audience understands your message. Here's a practical tip to enhance your performance further: try physically embodying the setting. Stand up, maybe even move around a bit, and use your hands as if you're genuinely in the gym, cheering everyone on. This approach adds authenticity to your delivery, making it more engaging and relatable. So, remember, the gym is your stage, and the people there are eager to be inspired by your voice. Let's aim to capture that dynamic atmosphere and make your performance truly compelling!
