She's currently struggling with addiction, and trying to stay clear of a dangerous stalker from her past. Even so, she's always ready to put on a brave face for her clients and her loved ones-- perhaps to a fault.
Trent's got a bit of a crush on her, and they're both aware of it, though Trent's doing his best to put it out of his head. Meanwhile, early on in the series, Mallory leverages Corrine's drug problem to get her to give up Trent's files. It's a dark moment for her, and it becomes a heavy secret between the two of them.
