VOICE REFERENCE:

We’ve had far too many good Mysterio portrayals in animation and video games over the years for me to just give you one reference, so I suggest three… we have Peter Cullen(Voiced Mysterio in “Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends” in 1981), Fred Tatasciore(“Spider-Man: Unlimited” in 2014), and Crispin Freeman(“Marvel’s Spider-Man” in 2017). You are free to use whichever voice reference you see fit, both as Quentin Beck, and by making your voice sound extravagant, echoey, and loud for Mysterio.

CHARACTER & VOICE DESCRIPTION:

Quentin Beck had loved the concept of special effects ever since he was a boy, so much that when he became an adult, he was an accomplished Hollywood special effects titan and professional stuntman. Beck’s turn to villain came before Spider-Man started fighting crime, back when he made television appearances to make himself money. Quentin was forced to use real dangers for Spider-Man during his television appearance, real dangers that almost harmed the audience if not for Spider-Man’s quick thinking. This near-ruined Beck’s career, leaving him vengeful against Spider-Man and using his special effects wizardry to become a costumed villain. Mysterio is very extravagant in the way he speaks, his voice in the costume has a loud echo to it. Hell, you could say he sounds like a comic book villain from the 60s with how he speaks with some sort of class and flourish. The voice he should have is booming and cunning, but equally as exciting, dare I say.
