Shuuko Komi, Shoko Komi's mother, has an extremely bubbly and outgoing personality. She's an extrovert in every sense of the word, which is a good thing because she's the only member of her family that has both the ability and the desire to communicate with others, so she's the only one who does almost all of the talking. Because of that, the mood of a scene often changes drastically when she arrives. She loves her family very much and has no shame or hesitation in showing it. And while, like many parents, she does unintentionally embarrass Komi around her new friends, she's also skilled at judging the atmosphere and is capable and wiling of backing off when she's having a good moment with her friends, especially with Tadano. It's for this reason that fans have theorized that she is always able to do this and knows she's embarrassing Komi and does it intentionally as a way to test her in social situations, although this is unconfirmed in the series itself.
