Adara for Audrey
Quiet, practical, does not suffer fools lightly. If Nathalie is an "old friend" of Katrina's, then Audrey is her "current friend". And, all things considered, a much better one.
Audrey and Katrina have saved each others' lives more times than they can count. The shelter for young queer people that Katrina founded would not exist without Audrey to support her. Audrey's past and background is very much a "need-to-know basis", and she does not trust easily.

"We line the roads with the papers we’ve put great value into every night. In the morning when the Boundary has taken them and they have all gone, we resume. We write more. The energy we put into our words keeps the instability down. Together, we keep the threshold at bay. If anything seems to spontaneously vanish in this house, it’s much more likely that whoever’s on cleaning duty moved it while sweeping.
