POV

Character Info – Leader of the enslaved “Diamond Dogs” who work the mine on behalf of the Cinari. Is extremely protective of his daughter May, adoptive son Alex and person who raised him Dust. After May is slain by the Cinari, he leads a rebellion against their oppressors.

Grief stricken, focused and confident. The rebellion awakens him to blood thirst which begins his journey off the path of morality. Dog Breed is European Black Wolf.

Authors notes: “Marak compared to the rest of the cast is the most violent out of all of them. While his leadership style may seem caring, I see it as a form of pragmatism to gain the loyalty from the people under him. It is why he doesn’t seem to care to know the names of other Dogs in the slaves, besides the people close to him. His fall from grace isn’t just his morality slipping away, but his further isolation from those around him.”

Voice type needed:

  • Male Adult
  • Mid-low or low-high pitch

  • "This ends here! They want us to work for their false Gods, their weak Empire. No! They murder our children, our lovers, and our families. And we get nothing in return! I say this ends now!"

  • *Narration* A guard charges up to me with a two-handed axe. I raise my shield, but with an effective swing, he shatters it into pieces. I stagger and fall onto my back. The guard raises his axe above his head as he grits his teeth for the kill.

  • *Narration* My heart feels nothing. I don’t have a sense of sadness, fear, grief. Just emptiness. My soul demands I cry, but my mind calls for wrath. The Cinari deserve so much, oh they deserve everything.
