Calling all talented actors! We're looking for a versatile and skilled actor who can effortlessly switch between different objective external performative elements in the same scene, making it feel like they're separate actors with unique speech patterns and accents in that same scene. If you have the ability to cycle through multiple accents, dialects, and Laban efforts speech patterns repeatedly and consistently, we want you!


But wait, there's more! This is not your typical voice acting gig, you won't be doing different "voices" for each character (i.e. male, female, young, old, etc.). Instead, you'll be using your natural speaking voice to bring each character to life, switching accents, dialects, and Laban efforts speech patterns on the fly while maintaining character consistency as I will be using AI to age or de-age your voice as well as set the gender for each character while keeping your performance fully intact.


I don’t want you to adjust your voice in an attempt to sound like an old man or a young girl. I want you to perform the defined Laban effort speech pattern and accent for each character in your natural speaking voice. The AI will magically transform your vocal qualities to make it sound like it was originally performed by an old man or a young girl.


This gig is about acting and your performance for each character and not about doing different vocal pitches for each character.

AUDITION SCRIPT -- DO NOT READ THE ACTION TEXT (not indented), ONLY THE DIALOGUE


The format for each character's external performative elements is as follows: Laban Effort - Accent


The scene opens with Bryson holding a piece of paper with four names on it. These are the only people with admin access to SafetyNet, which was shut down long enough to provide cover for a murder to be committed.


The mayor snatches it from his hand.

            WRING - AMERICAN

        (commanding)

    Let me see that.

She scans it and then shoves it in Bryson’s face.

            WRING - AMERICAN

        (accusingly)

    Why is my name on this paper?

            FLICK - AMERICAN

        (defiantly)

    The system was down for ten minutes yesterday.

            WRING - AMERICAN

         (irritated)

    Why is this the first I’m hearing that SafetyNet crashed?

            FLICK - AMERICAN

        (defensive)

    It didn’t crash. Somebody logged in to the system and rebooted the OS. Nobody should ever do that. Ever! It took a full ten minutes to come back online.

            GLIDE - AMERICAN

    Then why’re you wasting your time putting the mayor’s name on a list. Why don’t you look at your system logs to find out who did it?

            FLICK - AMERICAN

        (defensive)

    Your name’s on that list too. And I did.

            GLIDE - AMERICAN

         (challenging)

    And what did you discover? Who rebooted SafetyNet?

            FLICK - AMERICAN

        (too quiet to hear)

    It was me.

            WRING - AMERICAN

        (impatient)

    Speak up! Who was it?

            FLICK - AMERICAN

        (louder but defensive)

    According to the logs, it was me.

The mayor looks at him in alarm.

            WRING - AMERICAN

        (accusingly)

    You?! Why did you reboot the system?

Bryson takes a step forward and gets in her face.

            FLICK - AMERICAN

        (belligerently)

    Obviously, I didn’t do it. Somebody else used my credentials. That list in your hand is the names of the people who either already know my credentials or could get them. As you can see, it’s not a very long list.

            WRING - AMERICAN

        (menacing)

    Be very careful what you say next, young man.

She feeds it into the paper shredder.

            FLICK - AMERICAN

        (defiant)

    I’m not accusing you of anything. But your name belongs on that list and shredding it won’t change that.

            WRING - AMERICAN

        (outraged)

    Why? Why would I do such a thing?

            FLICK - AMERICAN

        (attacking)

    Oh, I don’t know. Discredit my system? Cancel my contract? Get the company you invested in to replace SafetyNet?

            WRING - AMERICAN

    The last thing I need is for the relentless news cycle to catch wind of this absurd allegation. My reelection campaign hinges on the success of SafetyNet. My investment in a competitor has no bearing on anything. It was a gamble I took and lost, fair and square.

She turns to Bryson.

            WRING - AMERICAN

    I’ve moved on. Maybe you should too.

Bryson glares at her for a long minute and then a wry smile forms on his lips.

            FLICK - AMERICAN

    You know what the best thing about being deaf is? Every annoying bitch around me has a mute button.

He reaches up behind his ears and turns off his hearing aids.

            WRING - AMERICAN

    What did you call me? You turn those back on, I’m not done talking to you.

He turns and saunters out of the room.

            WRING - AMERICAN

        (demanding)

    Where do you think you’re going? Hey!

            GLIDE - AMERICAN

        (sighs)

    Don’t bother. He can’t hear you.

She turns back to the chief.

            WRING - AMERICAN

        (forceful)

    The second we don’t need that little punk, he’s gone. You hear me! Gone! You have twenty-four hours to solve this crime, or I’ll replace all of you with someone who can.

She pushes past Valencia and pauses at the door without looking back.

            WRING - AMERICAN

        (commanding)

    Adam!

Adam looks up from his phone and scurries after the mayor.

            GLIDE - AMERICAN

    Coming!

The chief looks hopefully at Valencia.

            GLIDE - AMERICAN

    You heard her. All our jobs are on the line.

The chief suddenly looks at you, as if only just now realizing you are in the room.

            GLIDE - AMERICAN

    Even yours. Blake, was it?

            FLOAT - AMERICAN

    Why me?

            GLIDE - AMERICAN

    You really think detective Torres here can afford to have you push her around if she’s unemployed?

Valencia turns around in the tight space.

            PRESS - AMERICAN

    Then we better get going. Let’s head to the bank and talk to some of the victim’s coworkers. See if we can pick up any leads.

            GLIDE - BRITISH

    My dear player, I must say, I'm quite disappointed that you have chosen to end the story so prematurely. Can I implore you to reconsider and give your adventure another chance? The journey we have embarked on together has been so captivating and already filled with twists and turns. It would be a shame to leave it all behind now, don't you think? I assure you, there's still so much to uncover and experience. So, please, do give it another go. I promise it'll be well worth your while.
