I liked that you changed up the inflections and energy as you went and I did catch the verbal “highlight “ on the Get Connected Career Fair.. Nice! On the overall, it did feel bit more like a narration rather than a commercial throughout. Perhaps some volume or pitch changes to go along with the energy variations might help the sales punch through a little more. Your voice is so clear and very soothing, though. I nearly expected you to just keep talking about it!
my own critiques of my HW: there's so much more room to put more energy into this! it feels more like a podcast ABOUT something rather than trying to sell it. definitely a few mouth sounds that came through in recording - something to look into addressing! it sounds "Nice", but it's a little too un-enthused to sell something or convince people to do something.
Another great, very friendly voice. I can tell there's a real effort to hit a dynamic and conversational read. Some really strong moments of sounding super authentic and I love the way he finished with the upward inflection on "5252." My only critique is that it stayed at that same level of energy throughout and sometimes it felt a bit staccato, but the conversational tone helped combat that well. Some lengthy pauses in there for this kinda spot I think ( I could be wrong), since I believe this is a spot geared for the radio. Overall, I really like the style and voice of this audition.
Some great comments - good critique. I did hear those mouth noises as well. This can be from SO many things - but likely water will do the trick for you. I love your natural though. I agree, you could have afforded to amp up the energy in a few places but NOT ALL OF IT. Natural is the hardest to do and for me, you sounded organic in many places so I like that. Learning when to be brighter or more enthused will help. So just some more dynamics (which is what we will work on this semester). You're actually off to a great start accomplishing one of the hardest reads (TO BE NATURAL) so still lots to be proud of there. If mouth noises persist lets discuss at some point so we can pinpoint where they might be coming from. Also a GRANNY SMITH GREEN APPLE is great for absorbing mouth noises if water isn't working. Take a bite, voice til it gets dry again and then take another bite. This specific apple only - it's a great trick. Spray bottle of water and just coat your mouth is another. Clicks can come from being dry, allergies, drinking, drugs, medications, nerves etc. so lots of elements can add to this. Good work
