Kenny Pérez was a coroner who worked at the Medical Examiner's Office. Five years ago, he discovered through files obtained from the Ministry of Health that his friend, Jeremy Andrews, afflicted with the Bugster Virus. When Jeremy was informed that his illness was life-threatening, he was terribly upset and left the room, which led to Jeremy ending up killed in a traffic accident. Kenny blamed himself for Jeremy's death and realized telling the truth might not always be the best thing to do.

He had since then became intent to figure out the origins of the Bugster Virus to find closure. Two years later, Kenny Pérez became aware of Zero Day. Confronting the GameX Corp. CEO, Daniel Parker, about this information, he blackmailed him into giving him a Gamer Driver and the Bakusou Bike Gashat in exchange for his silence. With the belt and Gashat, he was capable to transform into Kamen Rider Lazer.
