Life Happens Anime Series - Auditions for Remaining Characters

Austin's Dad is the father of one of the show's main characters - Austin Pierce. In the series, he is presented as a lazy bum, gruff and brash in tone, an unforgiving jerk in voice. He sounds like he doesn't care about his child, and always has something to blame him for or yell at him about. Most of the time, he talks out of his ass and warps things to fit his line of thinking. Throughout the series, he gradually changes, showing a soft side to his tough and harsh exterior; more and more, he shows that he cares for his son and tries to look out for him. He even becomes more understanding and teaches Austin lessons that can be considered valuable. The audition lines here reflect each of these characteristics.
For the voice, we are open to any interpretation, though it MUST be within the low vocal range. For some lines, a fatherly tone is advised. For others, a tone of an unforgiving jerk is definitely advised.
While this role will ultimately go to one person who can do it best, those who are placed in top consideration will be notified and will join the Razor Sharp Discord Server as Standby VAs, in case we need a voice for any other character in the future. Such cases will be handled strictly through Discord.
(BOTH LINES CALL FOR AUSTIN'S DAD TO SOUND LIKE AN UNCARING JERK)
[speaking to his son, Austin, reprimanding him for talking back to him]
"This room is under my roof. And under my roof, you follow my rules."
[more reprimanding, after learning that Austin has locked himself in his room since he came home from school]
"This is how you spent the entire day since you got home? That’s no way for a man to live! Why are you wasting your time playing video games when you could be spending it doing something more productive?"
[The first sentence starts off calm and sports a slight fatherly tone. With the second sentence, the tone shifts to being strict and harsh)
(fatherly and calm) "Remember what I told you, son. If you get expelled..." (strict and harsh) "I’m kicking you out of the house!"
[speaking to Austin when he's on a date with a girl, and is advising him to be chivalrous.]
(informatively) "Chivalry was the code of honor that knights were expected to follow. Likewise, us men have our own code to follow." (strict and near yelling) "So that means you gotta get your ass out of that seat, and open the door for the nice lady!"
Thank you for your audition. This is a solid one all-around, and hits the desired deliveries and emotional beats fairly well. The only thing I could critique is that some deliveries lacked slightly in emotion where others hit the mark, but that's about it. Once more, thank you for auditioning.
