Chase    I was filming for my project. This place is important to Echo's history.

Kudzu    Well, I'm not exactly doing 'that' am I? Anyway, I just take walks sometimes on my days off.

Chase    In the middle of the day?

Kudzu    Usually.

Chase    I mean, it just gets so hot out here at this time of day. I'd die.

Kudzu    I dunno. I go for walks a lot. That's what I was doing last night when I found you two.

Leo    Whoa, wait, did he say some shit about Chase?

Kudzu    Again, he was on something last night. He might not even remember it, but I'm just warning you to be careful around him from now on.

Chase    Hey, I'll be gone in a few days, don't worry about me...I am worried about you.

Chase    Um, hey, Kudzu! You know we were gonna go out to the park and hang out. Did you want to come?

Leo    You know what? I think that's a good idea. We were gonna play some soccer, but there's only gonna be three of us. You could help even it out.

Chase    So...can you tell me what's going on now?

Kudzu    Sure you don't want to wait until morning?

Chase    I really don't think I'm gonna be able to fall asleep again, honestly.

Kudzu    So, yesterday, about noon is when I saw some weird stuff going on.

Kudzu    Your friend, TJ, he came kind of jogging up the road.

Kudzu    He said someone was after him and that he needed to leave.

Chase    He talked to you? Where is he?

Kudzu    I don't know. He asked me if I had a car, but I don't, so he kept on up the road.

Kudzu    After he left, though, is when things really started going crazy.

Kudzu    You know Dale?

Chase    Yeah.

Kudzu    He was walking up the road with a fucking shotgun, pointing it around and stuff.

Chase    Is that out of the ordinary for Dale?

Kudzu    But he was bleeding, had cuts on his leg and his jeans were all ripped up.

Chase    Oh.

Kudzu    But he knocked on my door. I didn't open it, but he yelled through it saying there was a meeting in the center of town.

Chase    What kind of meeting?

Kudzu    A fucked up one, apparently. Anyway, I went over to Leo's house to see if he was home, then I saw the window...

Kudzu    Obviously I knew some bad shit had happened, but I had no way of knowing what.

Kudzu    Anyway, I went to the town center, hoping I'd see you two there, but just getting there was crazy.

Kudzu    Jeremy's house was burning and Janice's house looked like it had been broken into, too.

Kudzu    Didn't run into anyone until I got to the townhouse.

Chase    What's going on?

Kudzu    I still don't know that, even after they told me...

Chase    Who?

Kudzu    The older guys: Mark, and the mayor...said something about this having happened before, that it was our turn, or something.

Chase    Our turn? What does that mean?

Kudzu    I don't know. They just said it happened to their grandparents, that we had to be ready.

Chase    Ready? Did they tell us what to do?

Kudzu    Said to pray.

Chase    Is...that all they told you?

Kudzu    Basically. Acted like there was nothing we can do about it, and uh...

Chase    What?

Kudzu    They also said we can't leave and showed us...a body.

Chase    Like, a dead body?

Chase    What is going on!?

Kudzu    I don't know, but...there were weird cuts on the body. They said we can't leave because something out there will stop us if we try to leave town.

Chase    Like, a serial killer, or something?

Kudzu    They wouldn't say. They acted like it's a monster.

Chase    Well, then they're lying, right?

Kudzu    After everything I've seen, I just don't know.

Kudzu    Shit...

Kudzu    Whoa, whoa, Chase?

Chase    Oh my god, Kudzu! What the hell are you doing?

Kudzu    I heard a train, then I saw someone...are you okay?

Chase    Yeah, I wanted to come get you, in case we were gonna try to hop the train.

Kudzu    Little late for that, eh?

Chase    Well, yeah, but I didn't want to leave you behind.

Chase    Listen, I don't know what's going on with Leo, but maybe we can go back and try to talk—
