He is a tired, older kind of guy who has dealt with many hardships over the last few years, but continues to push himself as his business is the only other thing keeping him going. It is, more specifically, the only other thing he can thrive at. He sounds a bit coarse, but is welcoming and tries putting on a bit of bravado to hide the fact that he is tired.
