Stanley is a large man, who suffers from extreme anxiety, and who is also stricken with alien hand syndrome. When he was a child, He was beaten by his father, never being good enough and nothing but a fat freak, as he often reminded him. His mother over compensated for the hate he received from his father, and never let Stanley really grow up.  When his father Passed away from lung cancer when Stanley was just 9, his mother latched on even stronger, treating Stanley like he was still a toddler, spoiling him with snacks and treats constantly, not letting him go to school, and rarely even leave the house, depriving him of his much needed social skills, convincing him that the other children would bully him, just like his old dad used to do.
That’s how Stanley spent his life up until the passing of his mother, just 1 week before her 66th birthday, and 2 months after Stanley’s 34th. Unable to communicate with anyone other than with a intangible mumblings, no experience of adult life, and no one to turn to, Stanley was placed into a care home Called Hackenby Manor.
