Michael at the beginning of the film is pretty hopeless and depressed after his break up. He feels that what he wants to say to Brenna doesn't matter since he knows he can't repair their relationship. At the worlds end however, Michaels fear of not expressing how he feels, gets the best of him and he decides to act with the little time he has.

In the first line of dialogue, Michael should sound pretty depressed, hopeless, and defeated, as he feels there is nothing he can do to change the situation at hand.

The second line is where Michaels anxiety starts to take over. He should start off still somewhat quiet and hopeless, but the thought of his last moment with Brenna being an argument, along with the fact that he never said how he really felt, breaks him into tears and panic, as he knows at this point, there’s not much time left.

The last line is the confession of love and care that he still holds for Brenna even if things don’t change. He should sound as if he just stopped crying, and is holding it together to be as sincere as possible.

  • In all the years I've been alive, I never once thought that it would end like this. It sounds pretty naive thinking about it now, that somehow it would last forever and that we'd be fine. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter when, where, or even why it ended, just that it ended. So my situation isn't special

  • But if only I knew what would become of our world, if only I knew that it would be the last moment I shared with her. There was still so much I wanted to do, and so much I still had to say to her, so much that I can't even comprehend what I would say to her. What would I say to her if the world ended?

  • I just want you to know that I still love, and care about you, and that even if we can't make it work, I will still be there to support you as a friend, If you ever need it.

Hey, i can only hear your voice on the left side of my headphones- an easy fix for this would be to switch your recording to mono, with one recording channel it should fix some of that. thought i'd let you know, good luck!

Thank you so much I appreciate that! Was the audition okay outside of that?

no holds bars- honest review. i'll start with editing. the only complaint here is that your audio is a tad too quiet. some loudness normalization/ normalization in general could help with this. there is a fuzziness to your recordings, that could either be from equipment (i understand being on a budget, less of a critique more of a note.) or it could be from something your doing to your clips in post. on to delivery. this is more opinionated. but i think where you might struggle is with the flow of delivering lines. some of the pauses here are a little weird, thats a bi product of the way the lines are written, but worth noting. i think some of the emotions do feel a little bit phoned in. honestly i'd suggest just going for it a bit more. if the script says you're panicking, lean into it. panic. dont hold back. same thing with points where the script wants you to be loud, be loud. if you hold back people will be able to hear that in your performance. with all that being said... i like your voice. it's good. there are always ways to improve, whether it be figuring out what equipment makes your voice sound best, and working towards it, figuring out how to use your DAW of choice to make your recordings sound clean, or just practicing until you work out the kinks of certain lines, you have a good voice. and thats a great starting point. AnYwAys, sorry for being longwinded just thought i'd give you everything i could for a second. once again, good luck. and remember to have fun! cheers

I can echo Bryson here and say that it's an easy and common mistake to make, but rendering your file into mono will solve that Left ear only issue! Right ear loneliness aside, your voice is AWESOME! I highly recommend looking into normalization, so you can boost the volume of your recording! Looking into using a free software like Reaper to help you get some audio editing tools in your hands, would go a long way! For reference, if your waveforms/transients are as small as yours are in your audition, you can take that as a visual sign of needing to normalize! If you ever need to talk shop with someone, just hmu, I've been smashing my brain into the technical side of audio for a bit now, and while I'm no expert, I can help with the basics!
