- This character is from Brooklyn and we want to make her sound like that. If Brookyln is too specific, a stereotypical New York accent would work fine too. Zarina having an accent isn't required to audition, but just know an accent is heavily preferred
-This character has a good chunk of lines, as she is the main character in one of our spin off series. Just thought I would warn you here so you're not surprised by the workload lol.
My name is Zarina Kassir.
When I heard a rumor that a fast-food restaurant owner was exploiting workers, I decided to go undercover and produce a hard-hitting film. I modified my look, faked an accent, and secured a waitress position at the restaurant. After three weeks of unpaid work, I was fired for demanding my paycheck. To retaliate, I posted clips of the restaurant owner's abusive behavior and within hours, the news had picked up my story…but being the news…they somehow spun it to create sympathy for the restaurant.
Well, I was fuckin’ pissed. But embittered by the experience, I committed to become an independent producer. My first feature film was inspired by an English class poem about Sacco and Vanzetti. It won first prize and launched my reputation as an uncompromising documentary filmmaker.
What? Oh, no no. I-...sorry. I didn't mean to be insensitive. Your story just speaks to me as the daughter of an immigrant myself. There's room to explore social commentary on immigrant exploitation and–...well…I guess my point is just that I appreciate your humanity. I'm assuming your reluctance to kill is why you just wanted to avoid participating in this trial. And on behalf of us survivors, thank you for giving us an easier time when you can.
