Young woman looking to climb Mount Celeste to conquer her inner demons and get the sense of accomplishment she desires. She is snarky and has a shorter temper, generally a bit emotional, which Badeline uses as a frequent scapegoat. She gets anxious quite easily and is susceptible to panic attacks. Her guilt complex is broken, where she believes she is always hurting people when she isn't doing so or is even doing the opposite. This is no thanks to Badeline's constant gaslighting and manipulation. Although she has some issues mentally, her perseverance is admirable to both those she meets, and eventually, herself.
She should sound young, but not terribly squeaky or nasally. Her voice can be a little bright if that's your interpretation. Although she is young, she is still an adult and should sound like so. Her voice isn't very assertive either. She's shy, so she should sound reserved, even when she's upset, she doesn't learn to use her voice (literally and figuratively) until much later in the game.

- [playing along with THEO's conversation, a little playful, and a little bit just trying to continue the talking.] “What ‘far off land’ do you hail from?”
- [to herself, looking at the ruined city, genuinely perplexed] "What a waste, to build all this for no reason…”
- [speaking to a pessimistic BADELINE. A little nervous, yet purposeful.] “I know it sounds crazy, but I need to climb this Mountain.”

- [speaking to the OLD WOMAN, who doubts her abilities. A little snappy and defensive, but not yelling.] “Well, if an old bat like you can survive out here, I think I’ll be fine”
- [to the OLD WOMAN. Both genuinely concerned, and a little facetious.] “You should seek help lady.”

- [trying to calm a panicked MR. OSHIRO who is overwhelmed by the mess of the hotel. She is hesitant to take on the task, but not one to deny kindness to others.] “Just breathe, Mr. Oshiro. Breathe. It's just a little spring cleaning. Well, more than a little… But I can help!”

- [She is on the broken gondola with Theo. She is struggling to stay calm, then descends into her full on panic attack at "no".] ”Yeah... I just... No, I'm not cool. I can't breathe.”

- [at the campfire with THEO exchanging stories. After having gone through a lot with him already, MADELINE opens up to THEO, as she is now very comfortable with him as a friend on the climb.] “My brain fixates on these stupid things that happened forever ago. I should be over them. None of it even matters. ...I’m good at keeping up appearances, but the truth is I'm barely holding it together.”
