Formerly a football star, after a science experiment gone wrong caused him to be in a horrible accident, Victor Stone was saved by his scientist father, who reconstructed his son's lost body parts using cybernetic prosthetics, turning him into a cyborg. After recovering, Stone decided he would use his new robot parts to fight crime and became the creatively-named superhero "Cyborg".
