Role assigned to: Bryce Bowl

Bumblebee is the young scout with a golden heart. He is always looking out for his fellow Autobots.

The reference for his voice is Dan Gilvezan, who voiced Bumblebee in Generation One. However, a young voice would fit also.

  • The Decepticons! They're attacking the power plant!

  • We can't rush into things Ironhide. We need to plan this out.

  • You can count on me, Optimus!

Uh sure. Now it might sound crazy, but I find talking to yourself helps a lot. Making up scinero's in your head and acting then out by yourself helps you envision the emotions you should give for a certain situation, be it anger, sadness, or joy. Alternatively, if voices are what you want to get better at, practice doing impressions. Take any character from any show, movie, game, etc and try to mimic them to the best of your abilities. For example, take Cell from Dragon Ball. Listen to his voice, take a line from the show, and listen to it in your head as if it were coming from your mouth, and then just try to mimic him. Cell is just an example though, if you find some voices don't work out that well then don't feel discouraged. Everyone's vocal range is different, and it might not hit the range needed for certain characters, and that's OK. Keep trying until you find a range it does work for. Also keep in mind that practicing impressions is not meant to prepare yourself to play said character, cause the chances of that happened, professionally even, are very unlikely. Funimation isn't going to hire me to voice Cell when there's nothing wrong with his current VA. Practicing impressions are how you figure out the vocal range meant for you. For example, in this audition my vocal range is kinda high because I was going for a teen Gohan kind of impression. Buf I can also do impressions of Patrick from Spongebob, Rick from Rick and Morty, Cell again, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Stitch from Lelo and Stitch, as well as a few others. My vocal range is kinda in between where and for some people it would work better with higher or lower pitches. I can go in between but I can't get super high or super low. So that helps me to determine characters best for me to audition for. Another good thing to remember is sometimes your natural voice works just as well for a part. Justin Bryner, the English voice actor who plays Deku in My Hero Academia uses his natural voice for the character and it works just fine. Lastly, learn to practice constancy. It's great if you can do impressions and certain vocal ranges, but that won't mean much if you can only do the voice for about 5 minutes till you lose focus and the voice goes away. Make sure you can keep the same tone of voice throughout. If you go back and watch the first episode of RWBY, you'll notice Ruby Rose's voice used to be much lower compared to her voice in the most recent episodes. Same with Paimon from Genshin Impact, her voice towards the start of the game wasn't as high as it is now. Other than that, keep practicing and believe that you can do it. A good amount of research should go into this sort of thing. Don't just take my word for it, figure out what works best for you and go with that. Only change your style when a professional tells you so. I hope that's helpful!
