Thorns (My OCs) Voice Acting
Kraydle for White
White is cold, calculated, and manipulative at heart, but he puts on the facade of a friendly man who wants the best for everyone. However, he’s quite a sympathetic villain because, as the brother of the protagonist, Finne, we see quite a bit of his more vulnerable side and why he is the way he is. I’d like a voice actor who could reflect all sides of him. He’d probably be the hardest character to play on this list.
He is Dust Kingdom’s royal advisor, but he has the authority of the king because the actual king, Lukas, is his “best friend” who he often controls.
If a song were to describe him, it’d be Welcome to the Internet by Bo Burnham.
I imagine he has a medium-low, smooth masculine voice that gets light occasionally when he’s pretending to be friendly sometimes.
He is 25 years old and, if it matters, asexual aromantic.
Note that he is a huge comfort character of mine and I WILL be pickier with him! Additionally, when he’s pretending to be friendly, his pitch raises a bit as his tone changes.
Facade lines:
“Ah, well, that would most certainly not be something that I would have considered!” Not an official line, but demonstrates his facade. Light and friendly tone
Genuine lines:
“Hey, Lukas (Loo-kis), is everything alright?”
Not an official line
A more genuine tone; Lukas is the closest thing that White has to a genuine friendship, even though White manipulates Lukas, and they care for each other. It isn’t necessarily cold or malicious, but it’s not airy like his facade either; It’s White trying to be a “good friend”.
”I spared Sage for YOU, Finne!”
Not quite an official line but there’s something similar in my writing.
Desperately trying to get Finne’s approval, he sounds hopeful here.
”I’m home…”
He sounds like he’s dreading something; This is a dream/flashback sequence where he relives some of his trauma, and he sounds a lot more vulnerable here.
Malicious/cold lines:
“So, you let her go?”
NOW is when he reveals his true colors. He sounds cold and angry, but still calm.
”She would’ve taken you with her if she didn’t want you dead.”
Condescending, a slightly different tone, perhaps more quietly and a bit more whispery.
”You let your own personal fears and grudges affect the princess.”
He smiles as he says this, I imagine, although no longer whispering he still sounds condescending but more “simple”. It’s hard to describe.
