The female protagonist of "On Borrowed Time." She speaks some Japanese and makes a few sounds to indicate her feelings. The only language she knows is Japanese, so throughout the chapter she stays mute because she and Malachi cannot communicate properly. Rune has amnesia too and gets washed up on Malachi's beach.
