Luminous is one of the Maple Alliance heroes, and a master magician.
After fighting through many tough battles against the Black Mage’s forces, it was Luminous who dealt the final blow to the Black Mage once and for all. However, in the Black Mage’s attempts to break free, Luminous is forced to physically clash with him, and he becomes tainted with the Black Mage's dark power, to which he struggles to keep a hold of.
After falling into a deep slumber of ice with the other Heroes by the Black Mage, Luminous wakes up and finds himself in Ellinia. A girl named Lania found him and brought him into her home, where they lived happily. However, as years pass, the Black Mage's dark power gains control and suddenly annihilates the entire area, fatally injuring Lania in the process. In choosing the light over the darkness in himself, he is able to restore the area and Lania’s health to what it was before but he leaves Lania over fears he cannot control the darkness inside him.
In Heroes of Maple, he takes some convincing to join the Maple alliance as he was doubtful about Freud's decision of the heroes being together, as well as considering Evan a clumsy successor and not Freud’s equal, until Lania arrived and convinced Luminous to let them stay with them for a while. She eventually convinces him to go with Evan, asking about his relationship with Phantom and his comparison between Evan and Freud.
Cult of Personality: Luminous is one of most powerful mages in Maple World, and is shown to be prideful and hard to impress, refusing to follow someone who was so clearly inexperienced and weak in comparison to Freud. Naturally, he also possesses high intelligence, which Luminous proves when he reveals that Damien's army had followed Evan to Luminous' home without Evan noticing. Despite coming off as stern and kind of a jerk, he does have a sense of honour and he teaches Evan to have confidence in himself despite his inexperience. He and Phantom have a playful, competitive rivalry like two siblings would have. Although he takes the more mature path, and can get worked up when his views and decisions are questioned by Phantom. It is possible his cold demeanour is a result of the duality of his light and the darkness of the Black Mage tainted inside him.
You think I would reasonably suspect one of the others when we have a self-proclaimed thief in our midst?
A poor seal? How dare you insult our efforts, and Freud's memory. While you were off seeking petty revenge, we were-
You are still an amateur magician. You've never had a proper teacher, nor proper training. However, that does not mean you are incapable. Right now, your mind is flooded with self-doubt. A magician must have confidence in themselves if they ever hope to truly be great.
