Smith has nine lines.
Dr. Jo Smith was a scientist at the Commonwealth Institute of Technology before the Great War. She was a pioneer of the theory behind creating synthetic lifeforms and her research was used in the Prototype Synth Project which saw the creation of the earlies synths with personalities. Along with junior scientists Dr. Richard Wilson and Dr. Steve Harding, Dr. Smith supervised the creation of memory scans of various Boston citizens which were used as templates for early synths.
In the years immediately following the war, she took part in the excavation below CIT which created the Institute. Towards the end of 21st century, she began to develop a brain tumour from radiation exposure. In order to ensure her legacy lasted beyond the war she scanned her own brain. The strain of the procedure killed her. When we see Smith, she is preparing to have hair brain scanned.
The Commonwealth Institute of Technology has done too much good work for it to be lost to nuclear war.
This is the best chance our research has of being passed down, un-doctored, to future generations of scientists.
Just think, one day one of my descendants could make fully self-aware androids from these memories.
