Hogarth suffers from delusions has become convinced that danger lurks around every corner and that he will die at any moment. For unknown reasons, Hogarth believes that in the event of his death his body will be rebuilt in the last bed he slept in, at the exact moment he slept in. This means that if he dies he will, in his own words, “loose his progress” and have to “start again.” He always carries an enormous amount of water with him and keeps food secreted around their room.
