Barry Allen is a CSI for the Central City Police Department, the Fiancé to Iris West, future uncle to Wally West.... and the Scarlet Speedster, the Flash!
Barry is shy around others unless he knows them very well or he’s in costume. Romantic towards Iris and an older brother to Wally West. In costume, he makes jokes at the expense of his enemies upon first meeting them, but upon realizing that they’re a real threat, he’ll drop the joking and do what he needs to. Barry may be fast, but he is also known to slow down, talking to the victims of crimes he stops or other situations people have found themselves in, when someone is in great distress, Barry will even sit down with them and talk to them for hours to help calm down.
Barry is very early in his career, having only become the Flash three months ago. His encounter with Captain Cold is the first time he’s ever fought a super villain in his career, and the inexperienced Flash is going to have to learn from the mistakes he makes.
Barry also narrates the story.

(excerpt from a monologue) How long has it been now since I was struck by lightning? One month? Three months? Five months? I can’t tell. When you can go at the speeds I can, it’s hard to keep track of time. Mainly because you’re too fast to have time to look at a clock!
(Out of costume, to Iris) Hey hey, beautiful lady! I know you’ve been missing me while I’m at the lab, so I figured I’d put a movie on and we can spend time together tonight.
(As the Flash to Captain Cold) What are you supposed to be Jack Frost? Eh, even if I’m wrong I’m betting it’s some sort of ice themed name!
