Dedris is a nighthunter in the land of Midora. For decades he has toiled to keep the world safe from monsters in a world that spawns horrors on every rise of the crimson moon. He is getting old and tired, but the ghosts of his past keep pushing him forward.
As for the production side of things:
First things first, Dedris is a black man. As such, I am primarily accepting auditions for this role from anyone under that umbrella. I will consider other options, however, I will be prioritizing sensitivity in properly casting someone for this role.
With that said, here are the details relevant to the project itself. This is a visual novel/podcast that involves a mix of voice acting conversations between characters and reading/narrating stories. While I am open to different auditions, Dedris' voice should be roughly middle aged with a deep, soft voice fit for dramatic readings of short stories and providing a good teaching/mentor voice. Later in the narrative I will also need the flexibility in the voice to become ragged, pained, and even monstrous. For some references I have considered voices akin to, Logan Cunninghams work in Bastion, JB Blanc's depiction of Vander in Arcane, and Erick Todd Dellums in Avatar the Last Airbender and The Dragon Prince. If you have a voice you think would work for a grizzled hunter that doesn't match these, still shoot your shot! Any accent goes as I don't have anything specific locked down, so feel free to get creative with it (these are just references).
IMPORTANT: This project is planned to be four seasons of about 25 episodes each. As Dedris is one of two main characters, he will be in almost all of these episodes. This means I will need you to be able to commit to this project over a long period of time (approximately 2-3 years). I'm looking for someone interested in more than just voice acting that wants to get involved with the project itself. Feel free to ask for more details.
This project is starting out as a passion project that's lived in my brain for years. All production costs have come out of pocket so far. This means that while I certainly want to pay people appropriately for their time, my budget is rather limited. Off the bat I wouldn't be able to pay much past the minimum, but if things go well, that will hopefully change around the second or third season.

This journal is a bestiary composed of the creatures I have slain and the knowledge myself, and other nighthunters have obtained about each of them. It is the culmination of decades of work compiled into a single volume. When I die it will live on to protect future hunters and rangers from the disadvantage of ignorance.
In Midora the moon bleeds, and the night breeds horrors into a ruined world. Most choose to hide behind their walls and ignore the cries of those on the other side. So tell me, traveler, when the night comes out to hunt, where will you stand?

Qiara lay in an empty bed in an empty room in an empty house, screaming tears into her pillow. The daily accusations piled upon her were always too much to bear. She used to stare into the dull reflection of her fathers rusted breastplate for hours, wondering why the purple hue of her eyes made any room she entered fall silent.
